Our Mission
The mission of the Institute for LGBT Health and Wellbeing is to serve as a conduit for education, wellness, training, and research. We are a registered 501(c)3 public charity with the IRS and rely on grant funding and support from the community to advance the mission of the Institute.
Education
The educational arm of the nonprofit will offer continuing education, a speaker's bureau, media and public education outreach, community events, and an LGBT training certification program.
Health & Wellbeing
The health and wellbeing arm of the nonprofit will offer services to homeless LGBT youth, free support groups, and will work closely with other community partners or coalitions to expand services for a very marginalized community. We aspire to have a therapeutic summer camp or annual retreat for LGBT youth.
Research
The research arm of the nonprofit will actively engage in LGBT-related research. We have an active team applying for grants and funding to support research among LGBT youth and adults. We are aware of the intersectional identities of the LGBT community and aim to secure funding to address the unique needs of the LGBT community. We will continue to expand our reach as we gain more funding and have the opportunity to publish and share our research with the global community.
